EXPANSION PROJECT UPDATE
Plymouth voters will be asked to support the library expansion project at Town Meeting on Wednesday, March 10th at 7PM. The library's warrant article will be the first order of business. Voting will be by ballot, and a 2/3 vote is required for passage.
The total cost of the project is $1.8 million, with up to a third of the project cost to be reimbursed with privately raised funds, or funds already put aside for the project. The addition will add 6,000 square feet to the current facility, including a new children's room, adult browsing and reading area, and larger community room.
Plans and additional materials are available by clicking on the expansion tab or by visiting the library.
Historic Presentations 2010
Series Co-sponsored by Pease and the Plymouth Historical Society
During March and April, Pease Public Library is pleased to co-sponsor two historic presentations with the Plymouth Historical Society. The first of this series will be held on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00 PM at the library. It is entitled "The New England Town and Town Meeting". Professor Jere R. Daniell will discuss how American novels depict New England towns and link the history of towns, in general, to the history of our community, with a special---and timely---look at the process of town meeting.

The second program will take place on Tuesday, April 6th at 7:00 PM. This is entitled "An Evening with Emily Dickinson", a living presentation by Debra Connor. Nicknamed "The Myth" for her reclusive habits and her custom of dressing primarily in white, Emily Dickinson published fewer than twelve poems during her lifetime. Only after her death, when her 1789 poems were discovered, did her work gain renown. The story of Dickinson's devotion to her writing and the surprising circumstances that led to the eventual publication of her poetry remain one of the most compelling stories in literature.
Please join us for two evenings of interest and intrigue, made possible by a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council. Both programs will be held in the Rachel Keniston Community Room at Pease.

Both the book discussion and the movie will be facilitated by Frumie Selchen, Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire
