LIBRARY SPACE NEEDS
3/10/2008
Over the course of the last two decades, use of Pease Public Library has increased dramatically. The number of materials borrowed has more than doubled, the number of programs offered to children and adults has doubled, and attendance at events has tripled.
A space needs study, released in late 2006, found the library in need of 21% more space, about 1500 square feet, just to meet today's needs. To meet the growing community's needs in 2025, many more feet will be required.
The Library's Board of Trustees are exploring ways to meet this challenge. At this year's town meeting, they are asking the town to approve expending some funds managed by the Trustees. The funds will be used to engage an architect, to provide some preliminary suggestions.

Spring Book Discussions
Contemporary Northern New England
Pease Public Library will once again host a series of book discussions dealing with a strong sense of New England as place in the late 20th century. Included works of fiction, essays, and poetry will examine the relationship between author and place, or place as it relates to the characters' experience. Please join us for four monthly events, each held on Wednesdays at 7PM in the Rachel Keniston Community Room. Please consult the Calendar of Events for dates, book titles, and discussion leaders. All books will be available upon request at the circulation desk. We look forward to your attendance.
