Patrons who are iPod users can now participate in our downloadable audiobook program. The formats of the audiobooks vary, and not all can be played on every player. iPod users are now able to access Mp3 titles through OverDrive.com Check out what is available by logging onto:

Looking for an inexpensive day trip with family or friends during the holidays? We have a number of free and discounted passes to interesting locations throughout the state! All passes check out on your library card or are used in the form of a voucher issued from Pease, so take a look at what we have to offer by linking to our Museum Passes page. Then call the library and reserve your pass for a fun and educational day trip.

CHILDREN'S STORYHOURS-Winter 2010
We have begun our Winter 2010 Children's Storyhours. We offer one session for Toddlers and two for Preschoolers. We've changed our schedule a bit from last year, so preview our offerings, select which session works for you, and call the library to add your child to our group:
Tuesdays at 10:00AM for Toddlers (ages 0-36 months) started 2/2/10
Tuesdays at 1:30PM for Preschoolers (ages 3-5 years) started 1/26/10
Wednesdays at 10:00AM for Preschoolers (ages 3-5 years) started 1/27/10
Each class will run for 8 sessions. Parents should be library cardholders.
BOOK DISCUSSION SERIES---WINTER 2010
Best of ....
These titles were selected by the editors of Booklist magazine as the best works of American fiction in the past 25 years. This list is entirely different from a similar list created by The New York Times. What is "best" , anyway? What makes these books special?
March 2nd, 7:00PM: Animal Dreams by Barbara Kingsolver. Codi returns to Arizona to care for her aging father, and comes face to face with her past. A story of courage, love, and commitment. Discussion led by Scott Coykendall, PSU.

April 28th, 7:00PM: Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich. The first of her Native American series, this tells the story of two families in a drama of anger, desire, and love. Discussion led by Suzanne Brown, Dartmouth college.

May 25, 7:00PM: Ironweed by William Kennedy. A tale of life on skid row during the depression, set in Albany, NH. Discussion lead by Scott Coykendall, PSU.

ANNETTE ON ART

Well-known artist, author, and PSU Professor, Annette Mitchell, offers two programs on understanding art: Humor in Art from 3-5PM on February 11th and The Nature of Seeing from 3-5PM on February 25th. Whether you are an artist, art connoisseur, or someone who is baffled when you look at a painting, you will enjoy Annette's breezy, informal style as well as the considerable depth of her knowledge.
THE BIG READ IN NH 2010

The month of March will feature THE BIG READ in NH, with libraries and bookstores all over the state discussing To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The following activities will be held at Pease Public Library:
Book Discussion: March 17, Wednesday at 7PM
Movie Viewing: March 24, Wednesday at 7PM
Both the book discussion and the movie will be facilitated by Frumie Selchen, Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire
